Fox Eats Pigeon

The sight of an urban fox strolling down Falcondale Road at 5.00 in the afternoon is not that unusual a site. There are plenty of them around in Westbury on Trym and they seem to take the traffic in their stride.

What was a first for me was seeing such an animal last week crossing the junction with Canford Lane with an adult pigeon in its mouth. At first site, and from a distance, it looked like the fox had picked up a grey trainer. On closer examination, however, it became apparent that this was in fact a recently killed bird, now on its way to the fox's den for supper.
