Plans are underway to enlarge the footpath along the River Trym, as it flows from Falcondale Road to the corner of Merlin Close.
The proposed work - on the opposite side of the stream from the Falcondale Road allotments - will result in the path itself being closed to pedestrians for a period of up to six months.
The finished work should leave the riverbank with a wider path, similar to that currently in place at its junction with Merlin Close.
Two questions occur as this work is undertaken:

Two questions occur as this work is undertaken:
- Will the naturalness of that stretch of the Trym be compromised with the addition of concrete and tarmac?
- Will the river itself be narrowed in the process?
